I love those synth 80's horror themes - "Halloween," "A Nightmare on Elm Street," "Night of the Demons" - such fun music! I also love to take tracks and put them different time signatures. In this case, the "Menu Theme" from Metroid Prime is in 6/8 time, but I moved it to 4/4. It always gives the melody a very different feeling, and I like how unsettling it this version. What a fun time bumping the pitch knob randomly to simulate tape inconsistencies, adding tape hiss, finding cheesy synth sounds and weirdo sound effects. I hope this makes your Halloween playlists, and I hope to do another 80's horror-style track next year. Happy Spooky!
